The role of the media in covering a pandemic

This course seeks to equip community reporters with knowledge on how to produce and disseminate timely and accurate information on the COVID-19 pandemic. In essence, the objectives are:

  • To highlight the role of journalists and the media in covering pandemics.
  • To demonstrate the ways in which journalists can report on COVID-19 in a responsible manner.
  • To identify and reflect on the ethical and practical challenges faced by journalists when covering pandemics.
