Localising Covid-19 media coverage

This course is designed to provide community media newsrooms with basic knowledge and skills on local news reporting, analysing Covid-19 impact on livelihoods and adaptation strategies at community level. The training will also elaborate the role of community media, ways to identify and assess the impact of Covid-19 from a local community lens thereby informing the public using verified information. A basic understanding of the production of localised stories are necessary covering community views on the pandemic and their fears and concerns related to the impact of the outbreak in their lives. Also, content produced by community media is critical in countering fake news, demystify myths and cover Covid-19 related information gaps in communities.
